Do złota zabrakło naprawdę niewiele

Kevin Metel z Kędzierzyna-Koźla został wicemistrzem Polski juniorów w zapasach. W drodze do finału zawodnik UKS "Olimpijczyk" nie miał sobie równych, a samą walkę o złoto przegrał dosłownie o włos. To kolejny cenny medal w dorobku utalentowanego sportowca z naszego miasta.
Do rywalizacji w mistrzostwach Polski organizowanych w Poznaniu stanęło 130 młodych sportowców z 42 klubów. Kevin Metel wystartował w kategorii do 72 kilogramów. Pierwsze punkty na macie stracił dopiero w pojedynku finałowym, nie dając wcześniej żadnych szans swoim rywalom. W najważniejszej walce mistrzostw przegrał zaledwie 3:1.
Klub UKS „Olimpijczyk” Kędzierzyn-Koźle na szkolenie dzieci i młodzieży otrzymuje dotację z urzędu miasta.
