"Dugnad" in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. 

Integration of residents and improvement of neighbourly relations as foundations of local development.


16.12.2021 - I love my life

Project “Local Development” is entering the implementation phase. Kędzierzyn-Koźle municipality starts the task of creating facilities for people with special needs in “Chemik” Community Center. The reason for modernization of the building is inclusion of people with disabilities in the cultural life of the city.

The meeting preceding the investment was attended by representatives of the “Kocham Swoje Życie” Foundation, the director of the Municipal Community Center and employees of the city hall. During the consultation, people with mobility impairments or visual impediments voiced their opinions on the subject of location and equipment of the facilities. Those tips and comments were passed on to the designers. Next consultations were already announced to be organized in the future. 


16.12.2021 - Agreement is signed. Time to take action

Kędzierzyn-Koźle will change thanks to the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism. On December 16th 2021 the agreement was sign for subsidizing a project undertaken within the program “Local Development”. Our city, as one out of twenty-nine in Poland, was given 15 million zlotys for implementing resolutions to increase the standard of life.

Project: “Dugnad in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Integration of the residents and improvement of neighbourly relations as foundations of local development”, will be implemented by April 30th 2024. Granted resources will be spent toward applying policies integrating inhabitants, aiding people with disabilities, and partnerships with non-governmental organizations or ecology related actions.

09.07.2021 - Huge funding from Norway for Kędzierzyn-Koźle

More than EUR 3.5 million for Kędzierzyn-Koźle! Our town was one of only 29 in Poland to receive support from the prestigious Local Development Programme. A symbolic cheque from Waldemar Buda, Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, was accepted today by Sabina Nowosielska, President of the city.

More than 250 local municipalities from across the country were eligible to compete for money from the Norwegian and EEA funds. Only 54 cities qualified for the next stage of the competition. After a detailed analysis of the applications, an international group of experts selected 29 leading cities to receive a total of €102 million. The evaluation process took more than a year. Among the winners was the Kędzierzyn-Koźle project entitled “Dugnad in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Integration of residents and improvement of neighbourly relations as foundations of local development“. Our municipality is the only one in the Opole region to receive 3.5 million euros for its implementation.

Thanks to this funding, our town will be able to make important investments that will stimulate further development. The funds will be used to implement policies aimed at integrating residents, supporting people with disabilities, cooperating with non-governmental organisations and carrying out activities related to ecology.


The project is co-financed in 85% with The Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) 2014 – 2021 funds, and in 15% from the state budget.
