Po odnowieniu samego budynku – ścian, drzwi, okien i komina - czas na odrestaurowanie jego zasadniczej części. Trwają prace remontowo-konserwatorskie pieca krematoryjnego na terenie byłego niemieckiego podobozu KL Auschwitz III – Blechhammer.
Miasto dbając o ten szczególny zabytek po raz kolejny skutecznie pozyskało dofinansowanie na przeprowadzenie niezbędnej inwestycji. Pozwoli ona zachować to miejsce dla przyszłych pokoleń i podtrzymywać pamięć o ofiarach II Wojny Światowej.
Przyznana dotacja w wysokości 37 tysięcy złotych pochodzi z Ministerstwa Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego z programu „Miejsca pamięci i trwałe upamiętnienia”.
