The program aims to improve the quality of life for residents of medium-sized cities in Poland, which will help reduce socioeconomic disparities in our country.

The program operator—that is, the institution responsible for preparing and implementing the program—is the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, who is supported in carrying out these tasks by the Department of Aid Programs within the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy. The Association of Polish Cities will assist in implementing the program by providing advisory support to the cities.

The program’s budget is 327.882 million Swiss francs, including:

• 278.7 million – Switzerland’s contribution,
• 49.182 million – national contribution.

Support from the Polish-Swiss Urban Development Program may be allocated to projects in the following areas:

• education, vocational training, and specialized training,
• funding for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises,
• supporting migration management and promoting integration measures,
• energy efficiency and renewable energy,
• public transportation,
• water and wastewater management,
• waste management,
• nature conservation and biodiversity,
• health and social assistance,
• improving public safety,
• minorities and socially disadvantaged groups,
• civil society and transparency.

A website run by the Municipality of Kędzierzyn-Koźle, which is implementing a project co-financed by the Swiss Funds, which support the reduction of economic and social disparities within the European Union, and by the state budget.
