Bombowe znalezisko trafiło do muzeum

Nowe zabytki trafiły do Muzeum Ziemi Kozielskiej. Szczątki samolotu B-24J, zestrzelonego podczas Śląskiej Bitwy o Paliwo w 1944 roku, zostały przekazane przez przedstawicielki Alta Archaeological Consulting z Kalifornii. Artefakty odkryto w pobliżu Bierawy.
To nie pierwszy raz kiedy amerykańscy archeolodzy pojawili się na terenie powiatu kędzierzyńsko-kozielskiego. Od wielu lat przyjeżdżają do nas w poszukiwaniu lotników strąconych przez wojska niemieckie w czasie II Wojny Światowej.
Badania takie jak te, na skutek których Muzeum Ziemi Kozielskiej pozyskało nowe zabytki, nie należą do rzadkości. Rząd USA finansuje podobne misje, szukając po całym świecie każdego zaginionego amerykańskiego żołnierza.
