Polski plakat filmowy tamtych lat wolny od komercyjnego aspektu tego medium, zaczął być dziełem sztuki. Jest fenomenem w historii polskiej plastyki, stosując chwyty intelektualne, metafory, skojarzenia, aluzje i podteksty. U widzów rozbudzał ciekawość, zachwycał malarskością, ekspresyjnym stylem pełnym syntezy plastycznej. Cechy awangardowości, skrót graficzny, oddawały istotne treści i klimat filmu.
