Pamiętamy o wielkim Polaku

100 lat temu, dokładnie 18 maja 1920 roku, przyszedł na świat jeden z najwybitniejszych Polaków – Karol Wojtyła, późniejszy papież Jan Paweł II.
W Kędzierzynie-Koźlu o wielkim rodaku przypominają reprezentacyjna miejska aleja i monument w parku Pojednania. Święty patronuje wielu wydarzeniom organizowanym w mieście, między innymi maratonowi pływackiemu i licznym imprezom biegowym.
Kwiaty pod pomnikiem Jana Pawła II złożyła dziś prezydent Sabina Nowosielska. O rocznicy pamiętało również wielu mieszkańców Kędzierzyna-Koźla.
