Już wkrótce odbędzie się imponująca operacja logistyczna, wymagająca zegarmistrzowskiej precyzji. Wyremontowana w firmie Bud-Kor lokomotywa Ty2 ul. Mostową, Wojska Polskiego, al. Jana Pawła II i ul. Traugutta zostanie przewieziona na skwer Kolejarzy przy dworcu PKP.
Ważący ponad sto ton zestaw (parowóz plus tender) na fragmencie torowiska ustawią dwa dźwigi, 60- i 50-tonowy. Trwają ustalenia, jak sprawnie i bezpiecznie zorganizować całą operację.
Zabytkowa lokomotywa Ty2 będzie pomnikiem upamiętniającym kędzierzyńskich kolejarzy i ciekawą atrakcją Śródmieścia.
