Wojewódzkie drużynowe zawody lekkoatletyczne odbyły się na stadionie „Kuźniczka”. Wzięło w nich udział 80 młodych zawodników z Namysłowa, Zdzieszowic i Kędzierzyna-Koźla.
Zawody otwarł zastępca prezydenta Wojciech Jagiełło, życząc lekkoatletom jak najlepszych wyników. I tak też było - już w pierwszym biegu przez płotki dziewcząt jedna z zawodniczek ustanowiła swoją życiówkę.
