Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle najlepszą siatkarską drużyną w Europie. Trójkolorowi w wielkim finale Ligi Mistrzów pokonali włoski Itas Trentino. Najlepszym zawodnikiem meczu wybrany został Aleksander Śliwka.
Tym sportowym wydarzeniem żyli praktycznie wszyscy mieszkańcy Kędzierzyna-Koźla. Część kibiców historyczny mecz oglądała na żywo na telebimie rozstawionym przed halą sportową „Śródmieście”.
