Miłość na całe życie można znaleźć dosłownie wszędzie. Na studenckiej stołówce, na przystanku autobusowym, w kawiarni, a nawet u krawcowej. Dokładnie tak wyglądały pierwsze spotkania czterech par z Kędzierzyna-Koźla, które świętowały właśnie jubileusz „Złotych Godów”. W dowód uznania otrzymali odznaczenia państwowe.
„Medale za długoletnie pożycie małżeńskie” nadane przez głowę państwa wręczyła prezydent Sabina Nowosielska. Uroczystość z okazji 50-lecia ślubu odbyła się w Urzędzie Stanu Cywilnego. Serdeczne gratulacje i najlepsze życzenia odebrali Państwo: Irena i Henryk Latusek, Jadwiga i Lech Miller, Maria i Władysław Sikorscy oraz Zofia Szumlakowska-Reiter i Andrzej Reiter.
