Szymon Gromada z Kędzierzyna-Koźla mistrzem Polski w pływaniu. 17-latek zdobył złoty medal podczas imprezy organizowanej przez Związek Stowarzyszeń Sportowych „Sprawni Razem”. To nie pierwszy sukces na koncie zawodnika z zespołem Downa.
Szymon Gromada od kilku lat aktywnie uczestniczy w życiu sportowym Kędzierzyna-Koźla. Bierze udział w wielu wydarzeniach organizowanych w naszym mieście. Rok temu zdecydowanie postawił jednak na pływanie. Od września 2020 roku intensywnie trenuje w Gliwicach, codziennie dojeżdżając na zajęcia.
Ciężka praca przyniosła wspaniałe rezultaty. Podczas mistrzostw Polski w Krakowie 17-latek poza złotym medalem wywalczył również trzy brązowe krążki.
