Dokładnie 84. lata temu wybuchła II Wojna Światowa. W przeciągu kolejnych sześciu lat życie straciło dziesiątki milionów ludzi. Kędzierzyn-Koźle pamięta o ofiarach i bohaterach tych najtragiczniejszych w historii wydarzeń.
Obchody rocznicowe odbyły się w Parku Pojednania, gdzie odśpiewano hymn państwowy i złożono kwiaty pod pomnikiem ofiar II Wojny Światowej. W uroczystości wzięli udział przedstawiciele władz samorządowych, służb mundurowych, organizacji patriotycznych oraz mieszkańcy.
