Brawo Polska! Mamy brązowy medal

Katowicki „Spodek” przyniósł nam szczęście. Polska reprezentacja zdobyła brązowy medal w Pucharze Świata w siatkówce zunifikowanej Olimpiad Specjalnych. W emocjonującym meczu o 3. miejsce nasza kadra pokonała Irak 2:1 i stanęła na podium.
Ten sukces jest dla nas wyjątkowo bliski, bo w biało-czerwonych barwach walczyli zawodnicy Klubu Olimpiad "Koziołki" z Kędzierzyna-Koźla: Mateusz Wesoły, Szymon Szymaniec oraz ich partner Kamil Styś, a na ławce szkoleniowej zasiadł trenerski duet Paweł Serafinowicz i Piotr Osóbka.
W drodze po medal nasi sportowcy pokonali Stany Zjednoczone, Iran i Serbię. Ulegli tylko drużynie z Arabii Saudyjskiej po zaciętym pojedynku półfinałowym.
Rozgrywane w naszym kraju mistrzostwa to nie tylko sportowy triumf, ale też piękny przykład siły integracji i współpracy, jaką daje zunifikowana siatkówka, dyscyplina łącząca zawodników z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną i pełnosprawnych partnerów.
