Monumentalny obraz zawiśnie w nowym muzeum

Wojska napoleońskie znów spoglądają na Koźle. Obraz przedstawiający oblężenie miasta zawiśnie w wyremontowanych piwnicach wzgórza zamkowego. Dzieło stanie się jednym z głównych eksponatów tworzonego w tym miejscu Muzeum Ziemi Kozielskiej.
Płótno na czas remontu Baszty zostało odpowiednio zabezpieczone. Malowidło zdjęto z krosna i przechowano. Po zakończeniu prac trafiło do nowych sal wystawowych w podziemiach. Całej operacji podjęli się specjaliści z Muzeum Śląskiego w Katowicach. Kopia obrazu Wilhelma von Kobella „Oblężenie Koźla” jest imponujących rozmiarów. Samo płótno ma ponad 2 m x 3 m.
W muzeum trwają także inne intensywne prace związane z przygotowaniem wystawy. Otwarcie placówki nastąpi w najbliższych tygodniach.
