Wraz z dobrą nowiną do Kędzierzyna-Koźla dotarło Betlejemskie Światło Pokoju. Symbol zbliżających się świąt przynieśli harcerze z kędzierzyńsko-kozielskiego Hufca ZHP.
Ogień, który niesie radość w imieniu mieszkańców odebrała prezydent Sabina Nowosielska. Jego płomień przywędrował do urzędu miasta aż z Groty Narodzenia Pańskiego. To właśnie tam, co roku odpala się jedną malutką świeczkę, której światło niesione przez skautów obiega świat.
Przesłanie tegorocznej „sztafety” brzmi: Pielęgnuj dobro w sobie.
