Mateusz Szewczuk po raz kolejny zapisał się złotymi zgłoskami w historii UKS-u Olimpijczyk.
Podczas Mistrzostw Polski Seniorów w Janowie Lubelskim sięgnął po złoty medal w stylu klasycznym (67 kg). Pokazał klasę, determinację i mistrzowską formę.
Droga do finału była perfekcyjna: wszystkie walki wygrane w świetnym stylu, bez straty punktu. Każdy pojedynek potwierdzał doskonałe przygotowanie i pełną kontrolę nad rywalami.
Prawdziwy spektakl przyszedł w finale. Naprzeciw Mateusza stanął Arslanbek Salimov, brązowy medalista Mistrzostw Europy i Mistrz kategorii 67 kg w Polsce. Zacięta, taktyczna walka zakończyła się zwycięstwem Mateusza 3:3.
