O budowę tężni wnioskowali sami mieszkańcy, wybierając ten pomysł w ramach budżetu obywatelskiego. W ten sposób strefa sportowo-rekreacyjna przy ulicy Kościuszki rozrosła się o nowe atrakcje. W poprzednich latach mieszkańcy głosowali na projekt stworzenia placu zabaw i urządzeń do ćwiczeń na świeżym powietrzu.
